CBRN Unit Of to Police Command Base 15 Conduct Awareness Campaign To NASWDEN Members

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Unit of the Sokoto State Police Command, Base 15 Sokoto, has conducted an awareness and sensitization campaign for stakeholders of the National Association of Scrap and Waste Dealers Employers of Nigeria (NASWDEN) .

 The initiative, held today, October 9, 2025, aims to enhance public safety and security.

The campaign, which took place at the Sultan Muhammadu Maccido Institute for Quran and General Studies, Sokoto, was designed to educate participants on the identification, inherent risks, and appropriate procedures for handling potential explosive ordnance. 

The event featured practical training sessions and interactive discussions with members of NASWDEN, Sokoto State Chapter.

During the program, facilitator instructed attendees on recognizing suspicious items and executing safe response protocols to prevent casualties and loss of life. 

The critical importance of adhering to established safety measures when encountering such objects was strongly emphasized.

The Scrap and Waste Dealers Association pledged its full cooperation and commitment to partnering with the Police and other security agencies to uphold public safety.

The Commander of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit, Base 15 Sokoto, SP Shuaibu Hassan Jatau, reiterated the Command's dedication to ensuring the safety and security of all residents. "Under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Musa, psc, the Sokoto State Police.

The Command remains resolute in its mission to protect lives and property. We urge the public, particularly those in the scrap and waste management business, to maintain vigilance and report any suspicious items immediately to the security forces," stated SP Jatau.
