KADSUBEB Honours Outstanding Teachers

The Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board (KADSUBEB), had in commemoration of World Teacher's Day, presented award and Cash Check of N500,000 to the best teacher of each local government in the State, subsequently another N500,000 was presented to the overall outstanding best teacher in the 23 local government areas of the State for recognition towards improving basic education delivery in Kaduna State
The event which took place in Kaduna was attended by prominent personalities, development partners within and outside the State, Zenith Bank, SCI, PLANE, UNICEF, ROOSC, Nigerian Breweries, and TRCN
In his speech, the chairman of the Board, Alhaji Mubarak Muhammed, said, the aim of the event was to recognise and honour the exceptional contributions of teachers in the lives of thier pupils, adding that the significance of the recognition and award was to compliment the SUSTAIN Agenda of the State governor, Sen Uba Sani, and to motivate professionalism, with the goal of improving education, competence, and character among learners

This event, the first of its kind, brings us together to recognise and celebrate the exceptional contributions of our basic school teachers who make a real impact in the lives of their pupils"

" Award Programme, we are committed to recognising excellence and motivating professionalism, with the goal of improving education, competence and character among learners. In today's awardees, the Board provided clear guidelines to the local Government Education Authorities to ensure a fair and transparant nomination process."
" Teachers were assessed against criteria reflecting professional knowledge, teaching skills, and adherence to the Teacher Code of Conduct. From the 23 Local Government Areas, 115 nominees were evaluated through a rigorous, multi-level process that included screening, oral interviews, and classroom lesson observations.
Their performance was judge by an independent panel on lesson preparation, delivery, classroom management, and evaluation." Mubarak said
The state governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Education, Professor Sani Sambo, said, as part of the Governor's SUSTAIN Agenda, Sen Uba Sani gave the approval for this programme to encourage teachers performance
" Our leader, our governor Sen Dr Uba Sani, is the one that approved this event because he saw it as major contributory factor to strengthen the teachers to continue to perform better, to teach our children the needed education that is for developing the State".
" That is why he approved half a million naira for the best teacher in each of the 23 Local Government and another half a million naira for the overall best teacher of the 23 Local Government ". Sambo said
The overall best teacher, Mrs Bratte Esther Afun from Chikun Local Government Area who spoke on behalf of the awardees, expressed appreciation to the Governor of the State, the Chairman of KADSUBEB, Education Secretary among others," We are happy to accept these prestigious awards as best teachers "
" We want to expressed our gratitude to the Kaduna State Basic Education Board for recognising our dedication to teaching. We shall continue to inspire and educate the next generation of leaders".
