Senator Wamakko Commissions Renovated Imam Malik Jumuat Mosqu Minanata

Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko has commissioned the renovated Imam Malik Jumuat Mosque, a project undertaken by the Sokoto State government.

 The mosque, originally constructed during his tenure as Governor, has undergone extensive renovation to provide a conducive environment for worshippers.

In his address at the ceremony, Senator Wamakko provided a brief history of how the idea of establishing the mosque came about. He recalled that the area was previously known for its moral decadence but that the construction of the mosque had brought about a significant transformation, turning it into a hub for Islamic learning and spiritual growth.

According to Senator Wamakko, the construction of the mosque has saved the area from youth restiveness by providing a sense of purpose and direction for young people. He noted that the mosque has become a beacon of hope for the community, promoting peace, stability, and Islamic values.

He thanked the governor for inviting him to commission the Mosque and urged him to maintain the good gesture.

This gesture underscores the government's commitment to promoting Islamic values and supporting the Muslim community in Sokoto State. The renovation of the Imam Malik Jumuat Mosque is part of a larger initiative by the Sokoto State government to upgrade and renovate mosques across the state.

According to Governor Ahmed Aliyu, the state has awarded contracts for the remodeling of Jumuat mosques in the state, with 19 already completed and commissioned. 

This effort aims to enhance Islamic education, promote spiritual growth, and foster community cohesion. The initiative reflects the Sokoto State government's efforts to prioritize Islamic affairs and support the Muslim community.

Governor Ahmed Aliyu expressed gratitude to the people of Sokoto State for their support and prayers, stating that the renovation of the Imam Malik Jumuat Mosque is a testament to the state's commitment to preserving Islamic heritage and promoting religious values.

He emphasized that the project was a fulfillment of the government's promise to improve the infrastructure of mosques across the state.

The Governor urged the Muslim community to make good use of the renovated mosque, praying for the leaders and the people of Sokoto State.

The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar III, commended the state government for its efforts, noting that no amount spent on promoting Islam is too much.

He praised Governor Aliyu's administration for its commitment to Islamic development and urged the Muslim community to continue praying for the leaders and people of Sokoto State.

The State Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Dr. Jabir Sani Maihulla, highlighted the significance of the renovated mosque, saying it's a symbol of the government's commitment to promoting Islamic values.

The ceremony was concluded with two-raka'at jumuat prayer led by the chief imam ,malam Nura Nata'ala Hausari.
