Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko has launched another empowerment initiative, distributing various tricycles to families who have lost their caregivers, low-income earners, and women, to help them generate income and meet their basic daily needs.
The program featured the distribution of electric, petroleum, and solar-powered tricycles to over 70 beneficiaries from lower-income households.
The event took place in the presence of Senator Wamakko, alongside several dignitaries, including the Minister of State for Works, Barrister Bello Muhammadu Goronyo, the Deputy Speaker of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, Hon. Kabiru Kware, and the Deputy Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Hon. Sadam Bello, as well as other politicians and religious leaders.
During the presentation, the Minister of State for Works, Barrister Bello Muhammadu, while handing over the keys to the beneficiaries, encouraged them to use the vehicles wisely to build sustainable livelihoods, noting that the tricycle can generate up to ₦40,000 weekly, equivalent to ₦160,000 per month.
In his remarks, the Deputy Speaker of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, Hon. Kabiru Ibrahim Kware, praised Senator Wamakko’s ongoing dedication to the welfare of the Sokoto people.
He emphasised that the empowerment initiative was not intended for resale but to be used productively, as envisioned by the Senator, to improve the lives of the beneficiaries.
