From Aminu Suleiman

The Sokoto State Police Command today marked the annual Customer Service Week with a significant stakeholder engagement session, reaffirming its commitment to community-oriented policing and service excellence.

The event, held at the Command Officers’ Mess, brought together a broad cross-section of civil society to foster dialogue on police-community relations.

The session served as a vital platform for open and constructive discussions on the conduct of police services within the state.

The Command leadership presented its ongoing efforts to ensure the safety and security of all citizens, emphasizing a service-first approach to policing.

In attendance were key leaders and representatives from various sectors, including the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Chairmen of Okada Riders, Tricycle Riders Associations, esteemed Traditional Rulers, and members of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC).

A central part of the dialogue involved receiving direct feedback from the stakeholders. Participants provided valuable insights and suggestions on practical ways to enhance policing effectiveness, improve response times, and strengthen collaborative efforts in crime prevention.

The stakeholders also took the opportunity to acknowledge and commend the wonderful work being done by the officers and men of the Command in maintaining peace and keeping the state safe.

The Commissioner of Police, Sokoto State Command and other senior officer, stated, "Today’s event is a testament to our belief that policing is a shared responsibility. This Customer Service Week, we are not just talking to the community; we are listening.

The feedback garnered here is invaluable and will be critically reviewed and integrated into our operational strategies to better serve the good people of Sokoto State."

The session concluded on a high note, with a renewed mutual commitment to work hand-in-hand for the continued peace and progress of Sokoto State.

The Command is dedicated to protecting the lives and property of all citizens within the state.

Through proactive crime prevention, robust investigation, and meaningful community engagement, the Command strives to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and service.
