Sokoto PWA Issues Guidelines To Hajji Registration Officers

The Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency (PWA) has cautioned Hajj Registration Officers against registering individuals of questionable character and those from neighboring countries who are not citizens of Nigeria.

This directive was given by the Chairman of the Agency, Alhaji Aliyu Musa, during a meeting with Hajj Registration Officers from the 23 Local Government Areas of Sokoto State, where he presented allocations of Hajj slots.

Alhaji Aliyu Musa reiterated that the deadline for the payment of 2026 Hajj fares for prospective pilgrims from Sokoto State remains December 25, 2025.

This deadline is in line with the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON)'s stipulated deadline of December 29, 2025, for the completion of Hajj fare payments nationwide.

The Chairman appealed to intending pilgrims from Sokoto State to ensure timely payment of their Hajj fares to facilitate smooth processing and arrangements for the 2026 Hajj exercise.

He emphasized the importance of adhering to the payment schedule to enable the Agency to meet NAHCON's requirements and ensure successful participation of Sokoto State pilgrims in the upcoming Hajj.

The Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency is committed to ensuring that the Hajj process is conducted with integrity and in accordance with established guidelines, prioritizing the welfare and spiritual fulfillment of genuine pilgrims from Sokoto State.
