SOSG To Improve the Living Standard Of Displaced Persons In The State

Sokoto State government says it would not relent it's effort towards improving the living condition of Internally Displaced persons across the state.

State Commissioner for Social Welfare and Humanitarian affairs, hajiya Asabe Balarabe gave the assurance at sensitisation campaign as part of activities marking this year's World Mental health Day.

It was organised by the Management of Federal Neuro psychiatric hospital Kware in collaboration with the ministry held at Ramen Kura IDPs camp

Hajiya Asabe Balarabe said since it's inception the Ahmad Aliyu led administration is providing all necessary support and assistance through the ministry and office of Special Adviser on residence community and IDPs camp to improve the living condition of the IDPs in all IDPs camp across the state.

She said the state government in collaboration with UNDP had constructed two hundred housing unit meant for IDPs at illela local government in addition to others currently constructed at Rabah and Goronyo local government.

Hajiya Asabe Balarabe then thanked the management of the hospital for choosing the Ramen Kura IDPs camp to celebrate this year's event and called on the IDPs to make best use of what they would be thought during the sensitisation.

In her address, the Special Adviser on residence community and IDPs camp, Hajiya Maryam D Mass highlights number of support provided by the state government geared towards improving the welfare of IDPs and other less fortunate people in the state.

In his address, the Medical Director of Federal Neuro psychiatric hospital Kware Doctor Abubakar Suleiman Baguda represented by Doctor Zubairu Umar said World Mental health Day which is being celebrated on Tenth October every year was set aside by World Health organisation to create awareness on Mental health.

He said the importance of the day was to sensitize public on  their mental health and how to get access to medicament on their mental health.
