SUBEB Chairman Commends SBMC Tudun Wada Sokoto For Support To Education Sector
The Executive Chairman of the Sokoto State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Alhaji Umar Nagwari Tambuwal, has commended the efforts of the School-Based Management Committee (SBMC) of Basic School Tudun Wada, Sokoto, and called on other SBMCs across the State to emulate their dedication and contributions toward supporting the administration of Governor Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto in developing education at all levels.
He gave the commendation when members of the SBMC of Basic School Tudun Wada paid him a courtesy visit to appreciate the various projects and interventions carried out by SUBEB under his leadership.
The delegation which included the Principal of the school and the Chairman of the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) was led by the Chairman of the SBMC, Dr. Ahmad Rufai.
Dr. Rufai stated that their visit was to express appreciation and gratitude for the fulfilment of all promises made by Alhaji Umar Nagwari Tambuwal to the school. These include the construction of a one-storey building comprising six classrooms, provision of security, furniture, teaching and learning materials, as well as the upgrading of the school from a primary to a junior secondary school.
He noted that these developments have significantly improved teaching and learning conditions.
He further remarked that Alhaji Umar Nagwari Tambuwal has demonstrated a genuine commitment to transforming basic education in the State, particularly through his efforts to ensure that primary school teachers are among the first beneficiaries of the new ₦70,000 minimum wage structure for teachers.
Dr. Rufai also appealed to the Board to assist the school in repairing its borehole, renovating some classrooms, and fixing damaged roofs affected by rainfall.
In his response, the Executive Chairman, Alhaji Umar Nagwari Tambuwal, assured the delegation that the Board would convert the borehole to a solar-powered system and carry out the necessary repairs where needed.
Alhaji Umar Nagwari expressed delight with the Committee’s commitment to supporting their children’s education and encouraged them to continue in that spirit, in line with Governor Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto’s vision of improving education across the State.
He added that he remains open to listening to individuals or groups willing to contribute to the advancement of education in the State.
During the visit, discussions were held on key issues aimed at supporting the school. Present at the meeting were the Board Secretary, Alhaji Mamuda Ahmad Wamakko, Directors, and other principal officers of the Board.
Additionally, the Director of Administration, Alhaji Tukur Abdullahi, and the Director of Junior Secondary Schools, Malam Muhammad Abubakar, also provided further clarifications on matters discussed during the meeting.
