Gov, Aliyu's Administration Brings Positive Reform For The Development Of Sokoto State- Says Budget Commissioner

The current administration under the leadership of Dr. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto is deserous of bringing positive reforms for the development of the state.

Commissioner for Budget and Economic planning Dr. Abubakar Muhammad Zayyana made this know at a Town Hall Meeting for 2026 Budget Organized by his ministry at Sultan Maccido institute for Quran and general studies sokoto.

He said in the last two years of the administration several structural reforms and policies have been undertaken to shimlate productivity and set the state on the parth of sustainable growth and development.
On the 2026 citizen Budget engagement, Dr Zayyana noted that it is a great opportunity for citizens to give inputs to the government mission for rapid development of the state.

The commissioner added that it would also enable government to continue to enligh the state with the national and global best practices where participatory Budgeting system is encouraged for transparency accountability and Improudtrust in government.

In her address, the Permanent Secretary, Hajiya Maryam Ahmed Barade, commended the Governor for his consistent support for participatory budgeting, acknowledging the collaboration of UNICEF, UNFPA, and other partners in facilitating inclusive citizen engagement across all senatorial districts.
Representing the Head of UNICEF Field Office, Dr. Michael Juma, Mr. Alan Ibenga, Planning and Monitoring Specialist, commended the State Government for its commitment to transparency, especially the recent release of counterpart funding for child nutrition and for creating an enabling environment for development partners.
During the event representatives of civil society organizations religious leaders youth and women groups people with disabilities development partners and private sector.
