N1billion Allege Payment To Bandits. Baseless, Unfounded- Group Chides El-Rufai

Gbenga Oloniyo. Kaduna
A group under the umbrella body of Concern Kaduna Citizen has described the claim of the former governor of Kaduna State, Mal Nasir El-rufai as unfounded and baseless lacked fact to justify its claim

According to the group during a Press Conference in Kaduna, the former governor in a recent interview at Channel Television alleged that the current administration under Gov Uba Sani had made payment of N1 billion to bandits

The group further ascribed the statement as false and misleading, lacking credible evidence but politically motivated

"We wish to state categorically and unequivocally that no such payment was ever made by the Kaduna State Government to any criminal element.

The current administration remains committed to the rule of law, and transparency in all its dealings "

" Malam El-rufai's statement is not just an unfortunate lapse in judgment it is a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and sow distrust in the government's effort to address insecurity.

As someone who once held the mantle of leadership in Kaduna, one would have expected him to offer support, wisdom, and statesmanlike restraint - not reckless political outbursts " the group said

The convener of the Concern Kaduna Citizen, Abdulrashid Teslim while addressing Pressmen said the group relied its support to the National Security Adviser which had earlier denied any payment of ransom by the Kaduna State Government

"We also wish to align with the public clarification earlier made by the Office of the National Security Adviser's (ONSA), which categorically denied any payment of ransom by the Kaduna State Government or any other government entity under official security policy.

This reinforces the fact that the claim made by Malam El-rufai is disconnected from both fact and national security realities "

"As concerned citizens, we urge the former governor to refrain from making unsubstantiated statements that undermine the integrity of our security architecture and the confidence of the public in governance. Kaduna needs unity, not division: collaboration, not confusion. " Teslim said
