The Sokoto State Government has announced plans to appoint a committee in 2026 to work out the modalities for including some Islamiyya school teachers in the state payroll.
This announcement was made known by the State Governor, Dr. Ahmed Aliyu, during the graduation ceremony of 54 students of UK Jarma Academy who memorized the Glorious Quran.

He prayed that the knowledge acquired by the students would serve as a beacon of hope for the state's future generations and contribute to the development of the state and the Muslim ummah.

The UK Jarma Academy has made significant contributions to Quranic education in Sokoto State, providing a platform for students to memorize the Glorious Quran and acquire Islamic knowledge.

The academy, established during the height of the Boko Haram insurgency, aims to provide support to 100 children of displaced persons and those who lost their loved ones in the conflict in Borno and Yobe states.

Under the leadership of its proprietor, Alhaji Umaru Kwabbo Jarman Sokoto, the academy has continued to thrive and produce outstanding students who excel in Quranic memorization and Islamic studies.

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Saad Abubakar, in his remarks commended the students, teachers, and parents for their dedication and hard work.

He noted that the achievement is a testament to the enduring legacy of Islamic scholarship in Sokoto State and a demonstration of the state's rich spiritual heritage.
The Chairman of the Governing Board of the UK Jarma Academy, Malam Lawal Maidoki, stated that the school's mission is to provide students with both Quranic and western education, enabling them to acquire knowledge and skills that would benefit them in this life and the next. He noted that the achievement of the 54 students who memorized the Glorious Quran is a testament to the school's commitment to promoting Quranic education and providing opportunities for young people to excel.

Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, the State APC Leader and Senator representing Sokoto North Senatorial District, who attended the ceremony, commended the students and teachers for their hard work and dedication.

He noted that the achievement reflects the state's rich cultural and spiritual heritage and is a testament to the determination of the people of Sokoto to preserve and promote Islamic values.

Prizes and certificates were presented to the students of UK Jarma Academy and Abdullahi Bin Masud Islamic School, with those who performed exceptionally well being honored for their outstanding achievement.

The people of Sokoto State are proud of these students and wish them continued success in their academic and Quranic pursuits.

The proprietor of the school, Alhaji Umaru Kwabbo Jarman Sokoto, expressed his gratitude to the students, their parents, and the teachers for their hard work and dedication.

He also commended the Sokoto State Government and other stakeholders for their support, saying it has significantly enhanced the school's ability to provide quality education to its students.
