Former Zamfara State Governor and Senator representing Zamfara West, Abdulaziz Yari, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for empowering sub-national governments, describing the initiative as impactful on citizens’ welfare.
Yari started this in Sokoto at the inaugurating the Mabera township road executed by the Sokoto State Government.
He said Tinubu’s experience as a former governor had helped him understand the challenges facing states.
"President Tinubu is empowering sub-national governments, and I believe this is because he was once a governor who knows the realities at the state level,” Yari said.
He urged the president to sustain the support, saying it aligns with his vision to improve the living standards of Nigerians.
Yari also lauded Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko for his fatherly role and wise counsel to Sokoto State Governor Ahmad Aliyu.
"Almost 90 percent of my achievements as Zamfara governor were influenced by Senator Wamakko’s guidance,” he added.
In his remarks, Governor Ahmad Aliyu described the commissioning as historic and transformational, noting that the road will open up Mabera for economic activities.
"This project reflects our focus on economy, infrastructure and quality of life. We build where there is need, invest where there is potential, and protect what matters most,” the governor said.
