Aliyu Swears In Kebbe LG Boss, HoS, Advisers, Perm Secs

Governor Ahmad Aliyu of Sokoto State has sworn in the Vice Chairman of Kebbe Local Government Area, Hon. Musa Garba Kuchi, as the substantive Chairman of the council following the death of the elected Chairman, Abdullahi Yarima.
At the ceremony held in Sokoto, the Governor urged the new Chairman to be accessible, honest and God-fearing, stressing the need for him to reside within Kebbe Local Government to effectively deliver good governance to the people.
He noted that Kebbe is one of the local governments facing security challenges and directed the Chairman to work closely with security agencies through regular security meetings to enhance peace and safety.
Governor Aliyu also administered the oath of office on the new Head of the State Civil Service, Abdulkadir Ahmed Mohamed, alongside five Special Advisers and twelve Permanent Secretaries.
Charging the Head of Service to restore the pride of the civil service, the Governor emphasized discipline, commitment, punctuality and improved work ethics as key drivers of productivity.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the welfare of civil servants, citing the prompt payment of salaries, pensions and gratuities, as well as the restoration of imprest to Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
The Governor called for harmony between Special Advisers and Permanent Secretaries, explaining that while advisers provide political direction, Permanent Secretaries remain the administrative and accounting heads of their respective MDAs.
He stressed that all appointments were made strictly on merit and warned that his administration has zero tolerance for corruption, insisting on transparency, accountability and prudent management of public resources.
Governor Aliyu further disclosed that the backlog of pension and gratuity arrears inherited by the administration is being steadily cleared, with salaries now paid between the 19th and 20th of every month.
Those sworn in as Special Advisers are Hon. Umar Babuga Oro, Hon. Faruku Labbo, Zainab Umar Dasuki, Kamaludden Abubakar Lemi and Bashir Haliru Dogon Daji.
The Permanent Secretaries include Isma’ila Ibrahim, Aliyu Ladan Isa, Aminu Bello, Abubakar Alhaji, Ni’ima Hassan, Almustafa Sayudi, Aminu Abubakar Rijiya, Lema Sambo Wali, Kabiru Garba, Abubakar Moh’d Bello, Kabiru Labaran and Sanusi Aliyu Binji.
