JEGA IS UNITED UNDER APC, KAURAN GWANDU - NO DEFECTION - NO DIVISION

JEGA IS UNITED UNDER APC, KAURAN GWANDU - NO DEFECTION - NO DIVISION

Jega Local Government Area today stands as a symbol of unity, political maturity, and unwavering loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC) under the purposeful leadership of Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu. Contrary to misleading stories circulating on social media, Jega remains firmly rooted in the APC, with its political family intact and resolute in its support for both the party and the people-centred administration of the Governor.

The strength of APC in Jega is neither accidental nor assumed; it is built on visible governance, trust, and tangible development.

Across the local government, infrastructural renewal is evident, from improved road networks that ease movement and boost local commerce, to strengthened public institutions in education and healthcare that directly impact the lives of ordinary citizens.

Farmers, traders, youths, and women in Jega continue to benefit from state interventions aimed at enhancing productivity, livelihoods, and social welfare.

These achievements have further deepened public confidence in the APC-led government and reinforced Jega’s status as one of the party’s strongest bases in Kebbi State.
Politically, Jega speaks with one voice. All major political actors, stakeholders, and grassroots leaders in the local government remain are united within APC under the leadership of Governor Nasir Idris.

Former rivals and returning stakeholders have found renewed purpose in the inclusive style of governance being practised in Kebbi State, where performance, fairness, and commitment to development outweigh divisive politics.

This collective alignment underscores the belief that APC, under Kauran Gwandu, represents stability, progress, and genuine service to the people.

It is against this backdrop of unity and progress that the recent claim of mass defection from the APC to ADC in Jega must be seen for what it truly are : fabricated stories designed to mislead the public.

Recently, Alhaji Yahaya Jega, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jega Local Government Area, has categorically debunked these reports, describing them as completely manufactured to create confusion.

The false narrative that a large number of APC members had defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Jega is completely untrue and false.

He emphasized that the APC in Jega remains strong, united, and cohesive, drawing strength from the numerous developmental projects being executed by the Kebbi State Government under the leadership of Governor Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu.

He further dismissed claims that over 120,000 people had defected, noting that even the total number of registered voters in Jega does not support such figures.

He also clarified that the ADC has neither an office nor any recognized political structure in Jega Local Government.

The allegation that tens of thousands of APC members abandoned the party is not only false but illogical, considering that the total number of registered voters in Jega does not support such claims.

More telling is the fact that ADC has no visible structure, office, or recognized political presence in the local government.

Rather than losing members, APC continues to grow in strength, attracting individuals and groups from other political parties who identify with the developmental strides and leadership direction of Governor Nasir Idris.

The attempt to portray Jega as politically divided is therefore a desperate narrative that collapses in the face of facts, unity, and on-ground reality.

Similarly, Hon. Faruk Aliyu Nasarawa Jega, Majority Leader of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, reaffirmed that Jega has historically remained a stronghold of the APC and has never experienced political weakness under the party.

He stated that APC and Jega are inseparable, a fact consistently demonstrated in every election conducted in the area.

According to him, the political identity of Jega is firmly rooted in APC, and this reality has not changed.

He further disclosed that all politicians who previously left APC have since returned to the party, including former members of the State and National Assemblies.

This, he said, clearly shows that APC is a party that attracts followers rather than one people abandon.

Hon. Faruk concluded that all claims of defection are mere rumours, stressing that APC in Jega remains united, solid, and indivisible under Kauran Gwandu.

“Jega remains APC. Jega remains united. And Jega remains firmly behind Kauran Gwandu, whose leadership has brought progress, confidence, and a renewed sense of belonging to the people”, he affirmed.

No amount of social media blackmail and propaganda can alter this reality. Jega remains solidly APC and firmly behind Governor Nasir Idris, Kauran Abdullahin Gwandu.
