PWA Sokoto Announces 2,235 Registered Intending Pilgrims for 2026 Hajj

The Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has confirmed the successful registration of 2,235 intending pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj exercise.

Speaking at the agency’s Headquarters in Sokoto, the Chairman, Alhaji Ali Musa, revealed that preparations are already in top gear to ensure a smooth, well-coordinated and spiritually uplifting pilgrimage for all participants. 

He noted that major arrangements have been concluded, including travel logistics, accommodation, and feeding agreements with relevant authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Alhaji Aliyu Musa explained that the registered pilgrims comprise both private applicants and designated government officials expected to partake in next year’s holy journey. 

He assured that the agency is working tirelessly to prevent any lapses and to ensure that no intending pilgrim from Sokoto is left behind, with full support provided from documentation to arrival in the Holy Land.

The Chairman also commended the Sokoto State Government for its consistent generosity and unwavering support toward the welfare of pilgrims. 

He emphasized that the government has remained committed to improving the experience of citizens undertaking religious obligations, both locally and in Saudi Arabia.

With early preparations, transparent processes, and strengthened collaboration with Saudi partners, he assured that Sokoto pilgrims will enjoy improved accommodation, timely feeding arrangements, and enhanced welfare throughout their stay.

He concluded by expressing confidence that the 2026 Hajj exercise will reflect efficiency, dignity, and the true spirit of service, adding that the agency is determined to deliver one of the most organized Hajj outings the state has ever recorde.
