Sokoto Commissioner Of Budget Charges House Holds Data Surveyors To Adhere To The Rules, Instructions Of The Exercise

The enumerators for the Sokoto State Demographic Dividend Profiling (Household Data Survey) have been tasked to strictly adhere to the rules, rudiments, and instructions of the exercise. The State Commissioner of Budget and Economic Planning, Dr. Abubakar Muhammad Zayyana made this call while addressing enumerators, supervisors, and monitors of the exercise in three designated training centers for the three senatorial zones across the state.
Dr. Zayyana stressed that the success of the survey depends on the quality of data collected and the diligence of the enumerators, emphasizing the need for them to take the exercise seriously and ensure accurate capture of the demographic data of the households they would be visiting.

"The Demographic Dividend Profiling is a significant initiative aimed at providing the state with accurate and reliable data on its demographic profile, and the data collected will inform policy decisions and interventions towards harnessing the state's demographic dividend for sustainable development," according to Dr. Zayyana.

He further explained that the ten-day exercise would be conducted in six wards of each of the twenty-three local government areas in the state. Dr. Abubakar Zayyana advised enumerators to be courteous, respectful, and professional in their interactions with respondents, adding that adequate provisions had been made for the success of the exercise.

The Commissioner, represented by Director of International Cooperation Alhaji Musa Muhammad Wamakko, expressed gratitude to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the European Union (EU) Serah Project for their support, which has enabled the state government to embark on this critical exercise.

Chairman of Shagari Local Government Barrister Maidawa Kajiji who spoke on behalf of the chairmen of the 23 Local Governments, praised the state government and partners for their foresight in conducting the exercise for the benefit of the state. He called on all local government councils to support the crusade, considering its enormous contributions to the development of their people.
