Sokoto State Commences 3-Day Workshop to Review Social Protection Policy

The Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Sokoto State, in collaboration with UNICEF and the EU SUSI Project, has organized a three-day workshop to review the Sokoto State Social Protection Policy. The event took place at Dankani Guest Inn, Sokoto, from 8th to 10th December 2025.

The Director of Planning, Sani Abdullahi, represented the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry during both the opening and closing ceremonies.

In his remarks, Sani Abdullahi thanked all participants for their commitment and active participation in the review process.
 He appreciated their contributions toward strengthening the state’s social protection framework and emphasized the importance of collective efforts in improving the welfare of vulnerable groups in Sokoto State.

Throughout the workshop, stakeholders rigorously reviewed and updated the Sokoto State Social Protection Policy to enhance its effectiveness, ensure inclusiveness, and align it with current social and economic realities.

The Ministry expressed gratitude to UNICEF and the EU SUSI Project for their continued support and collaboration, noting that the revised policy will significantly improve coordinated social protection interventions across the state.
