UNICEF Visits SOZEA Over Social Protection Policy Implementation Review

The Sokoto State Zakat and Endowment (Waqf) Agency SOZEA has received a UNICEF consultant on Social Protection Policy Mr Lukas Sam  on a courtesy visit to the office of the chairman of the agency.

Speaking Mr Lukas Sam  noted that he was at the Zakat agency as part of his  statewide tour of the MDAs involved in social protection policy implementation  Sokoto State to which SOZEA is  instrumental a part.

According to him the purpose of the visit to Sokoto State Zakat and Endowment Commission. SOZEA and the state in particular was to undertake a comprehensive review and impact  assessment of the programme implementation in Sokoto State.

The UNICEF consultant was most visibly impressed with SOZEA giant strides in poverty eradication drives and environmental sustainability through ambitiously massive  cultivation of  cash/ornamental trees most notable date palms across 87 district areas in the state.

The spotlights of the day's engageme included a brief  presentation of the agency activities by chairman Muhammad Lawal Maidoki   Sadaukin Sakkwato  

The team was also led to a field trip to the agency date and moringa  farm located at its premises as well as group photo.

Mr Lukas was accompanied during the visit by senior planning officer as well as the principal planning officer from the ministry for budget and economic planning Sokoto State.
The occasion had in attendance the directors and principal officers of the agency.
