Wamakko Attends 2025 Annual Wrestling Festival in Tawa State Of The Niger Republic

Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko has attended the end-of-year annual local wrestling festival in the Republic of Niger.

After several keenly contested bouts, two wrestlers from Tawa State emerged as finalists in the competition. 
The national festival, which coincided with the 50th anniversary of the long-standing event, featured Nura Hassan of Tawa State, who defeated his close rival, Zakiru Zakari, in the final bout to clinch the title.
Speaking at the event, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, congratulated the people of the Republic of Niger for sustaining the festival over the years, describing it as a unifying factor among citizens. 
He also announced his personal donations to the winners of the competition and other key stakeholders of the event.

Similarly, the Sokoto State Governor, Dr Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, donated a Hajj seat to the overall winner and a Cash donation to the popular traditional Hausa singer, Sagalo and his team.
Several dignitaries from far and near graced the sporting event, among them was a Nigerian delegation of the Federal Republic of Nigeria led by Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, accompanied by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi; the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo; and the Member representing Rabah/Wurno Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Ibrahim Almustapha Aliyu.

Other members of the entourage included the Speaker of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, Tukur Bala Bodinga; his Deputy, Kabiru Ibrahim Kware; the Secretary to the State Government, Bello Muhammad Sifawa; the Chief of Staff, Aminu Haliru Dikko; as well as members of the Sokoto State House of Assembly and the State Executive Council.
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Niger, Ali Mahamane Lamine Zeine, expressed appreciation to all participants and guests who attended the historic event and congratulated the winners of the competition.
Likewise, authorities in the Republic of Niger, through the Minister of Sports, Sidi Muhammad El-Mahmud, announced that Zinder State will host next year’s edition of the festival.
