The Zamfara State House of Assembly member representing Maru South Local Government Area, Hon. Kabiru Mika’ilu Dangulbi, was beaten up by his constituents in Garin Dansadau, Maru Local Government Area.
The incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday while the lawmaker was accompanying the state governor’s entourage during a working visit to the Dansadau area by Governor Dauda Lawal.
The lawmaker faced the wrath of his constituents when he emerged shortly after Governor Dauda Lawal entered the palace of the Emir of Dansadau to meet him.
The angry youths complained that the lawmaker had neglected his constituents for two years without visiting them, especially since they are the most insecure areas in Maru Local Government Area.
A resident of the area, Muhammadu Lawali Dangulbi, told our correspondent that since the election of Hon. Kabiru Mika’ilu Dangulbi, he has never visited or called them to console them over the insecurity in the area.
He described the action taken against him by the youths of the area as appropriate, noting that the action would serve as a warning to members of the state assembly and political office holders.
Our sources gathered that Hon. Kabiru Mika’ilu Dangulbi has been rushed to a hospital in Gusau for medical attention after he was beaten by his own people, which resulted in him suffering a heart attack.
