The award was announced by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Dr. Haliru Bala Jikan Daudu, during the investiture of the Chancellor and the Maiden Combined Convocation Ceremony for the award of Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates for the 2010/2011 to 2023/2024 Academic Sessions, held at the university in Aliero on Saturday.

The Vice Chancellor also praised the Governor for providing funds to rehabilitate all university vehicles, which enabled the establishment of a free transportation system connecting the Aliero campus to Birnin Kebbi, Kalgo and Jega, thereby easing the movement of students and staff and reducing their financial burden.
