Attahiru Bafarawa Foundation Supports Almajiri Pupils With Learning Materials In Wurno, Gwadabawa LGA's
The Chairman of the Giving Back Initiative Committee of Attahiru Bafarawa Foundation (ABF), Malam Muhammad Lawal Maidoki Sadaukin Sakkwato Sokoto, has urged beneficiaries of learning materials and vocational empowerment support to make proper and responsible use of the items provided to them.
The beneficiaries, who received training and tools in tailoring, shoe making, carpentry and snacks making, were drawn from Makarantar Hardar Al-Qur’ani da Darussan Addinin Musulunci of Malam Isah Abubakar Wurno and Makarantar Malam Abubakar Zawayya, located in Wurno and Asara District of Gwadabawa Local Government Area, Sokoto State Nigeria respectively.
Malam Lawal Maidoki made the call during the distribution of learning materials and empowerment tools under the Almajiri Support Programme Committee in the two local government areas.
According to him, the intervention was purely humanitarian, stressing that the support was given without any expectation of return and has no political affiliation.
He cautioned beneficiaries against selling or diverting the items for purposes other than those intended.
In their separate remarks, the representative of the Wurno District, Sarkin Sudan, Malam Murtala Malami Gandu, and the representative of the District Heads of Asara up town in Gwadabawa Local Government Area, Malam Nazifi Muhammad, expressed appreciation to the Almajiri Support Programme Committee and the Attahiru Bafarawa Foundation for the initiative.
They assured that all items distributed would be properly utilised to enhance learning and vocational empowerment among the beneficiaries.
Items distributed during the exercise included bags of maize and rice, beds and bedsheets, carpentry tools, tailoring learning materials and shoe-making equipment aimed at improving educational activities and self-reliance skills.
