Gov, Ahmed Aliyu Presents Official Vehicles To The Chairmen Of 23 Local Government Council

Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto stated this while presenting new official vehicles to the chairmen of the 23 local government councils in the state.

Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu said this was why it had become imperative to ensure a conducive atmosphere for the chairmen to effectively discharge their duties.

The Governor, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Muhammad Bello Sifawa, said the government had been making concerted efforts to support local government councils in bringing much-needed development.
He said the state government had recently distributed buses to local government councillors to enable them to undertake official functions.

This, he said, was in addition to other vehicles earlier allocated to them to ease transportation.

Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu stressed the need for the chairmen to make the best use of the vehicles.
In his remarks, the Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Alhaji Ibrahim Dadi Adare, acknowledged the efforts of the Governor toward ensuring effective local government administration.
Alhaji Ibrahim Adare said the vehicles would no doubt assist the chairmen in the discharge of their responsibilities.

In a vote of thanks, the State Chairman of ALGON, Alhaji Abba Shehu Tambuwal, thanked the state government for providing the vehicles, adding that they would make the best use of them.
Alhaji Abba Shehu who is also the Chairman of Tambuwal Local Government Council assured of their continued commitment to supporting government programmes and policies for the development of the state.
