Pilgrims Welfare Agency Gets New Permanent Secretary


The Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency (PWA) has received a new Permanent Secretary with the posting of Alhaji Ibrahim Umar JJ to the Agency.

Alhaji Ibrahim Umar JJ is a seasoned Hajj administrator with extensive experience in the operations and management of the Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency. 

He previously served as Director of Finance of the Agency from 2007 to 2011, and later as Director General from 2015 to 2019. In 2023, he returned to the Agency in the same capacity before being elevated to the rank of Permanent Secretary and posted to the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education. 

He has now been reposted to the Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency as Permanent Secretary.

The posting was contained in a circular on the Posting of Permanent Secretaries in the State Civil Service, signed by Abdulkadir Ahmad Muhammad, the Sokoto State Head of Civil Service. 

The circular directed all affected officers to report to their new duty posts with immediate effect, while handing-over notes are to be forwarded to the Office of the Head of Civil Service for record purposes not later than Friday, 16 January 2026.

The Management and Staff of the Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency congratulate Alhaji Ibrahim Umar JJ on his posting and wish him a successful tenure as Permanent Secretary.
