PWA Sokoto Attends NAHCON Pre-Hajj Coordination Meeting in Makkah.
The Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency (PWA) has participated in the Pre-Hajj Coordination Meeting convened by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) with Executives of State Pilgrims Welfare Boards, Agencies, and Commissions.
The high-level meeting was held at the NAHCON Conference Hall, Ummul Judd, Makkah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as part of ongoing preparations for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
The Sokoto State delegation was led by the Chairman of the Agency, Alhaji Aliyu Musa, alongside the Director of Administration, Alhaji Ladan Ibrahim.
Key issues deliberated during the meeting included updates on engagements with Saudi authorities, airlift planning and coordination with designated carriers, accommodation arrangements, feeding services, as well as health and media preparations for the forthcoming Hajj.
The meeting also provided a comprehensive overview of the 2026 Hajj preparations, focusing on the level of readiness of states, pilgrim data management, and documentation processes to ensure a smooth and hitch-free exercise.
The Pre-Hajj Coordination Meeting was chaired by the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, who emphasized the importance of synergy and timely preparations among all stakeholders to guarantee a successful Hajj operation.
The participation of the Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency underscores the commitment of the Agency to ensuring efficient planning, coordination, and welfare of intending pilgrims from the state during the 2026 Hajj.
