Sokoto ALGON Passes Vote Of Confidence On PWA Chairman
The Sokoto State Chapter of the Association of Local Government Chairmen of Nigeria (ALGON) has passed a vote of confidence on the Chairman of the Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency (PWA), Alhaji Aliyu Musa, in recognition of his outstanding leadership and reforms in Hajj administration.
The commendation was given by the State ALGON Chairman, Alhaji Abba Shehu Tambuwal, during the flag-off of the 2025 Mandatory Health Screening for intending pilgrims.
Alhaji Tambuwal stated that the Association is highly satisfied with the leadership qualities of Alhaji Aliyu Musa, noting that his stewardship over the past two years has brought remarkable transformation to Hajj administration in Sokoto State.
According to him, since assuming office, Alhaji Aliyu Musa has changed the narrative of Hajj operations, particularly in critical areas such as pilgrims’ airlift, accommodation, feeding, and the general welfare of pilgrims.
He described the improvements recorded as unprecedented and commended the Chairman’s commitment to transparency, efficiency, and the well-being of pilgrims.
The ALGON Chairman further assured the Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency of the continued support and cooperation of all the 23 Local Government Councils in the state to ensure the continued success of Hajj operations.
He emphasized that the synergy between the Agency and Local Government Councils remains vital to sustaining the gains recorded and delivering a seamless Hajj experience for pilgrims from Sokoto State.
