Sokoto Budget Ministry Holds 2025 Staffs And Partners Award Night
The Sokoto State Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning held its 2025 Staff and Partners Award Night.
Speaking at the occasion, the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning Dr. Abubakar Muhammad Zayyana the the event was part of the ministry's commitment to excellence and its desire to promote a culture of recognition and reward for hard work and dedication.
Dr. Zayyana noted that, the 2025 Anunual Award which is the first of its kind in the history of the ministry was also to appreciate the tireless effort, support and commitment of all staff, associates and development partners for the success of the ministry.
The Commissioner noted although the ministry is yet to reach the level he desired, but it's the time to celebrate as it's moving to the positive trajectory.
While congratulating the awardees, Dr. Zayyana appreciated their outstanding contributions to the ministry through true commitment and professionalism.
The Commissioner who also acknowledged the hard work and dedication of entire staff, partners and associates, however called for sustain commitment, perseverance, teamwork, shared responsibilities and collaboration to take the ministry to greater height.
He however expressed gratitude to the State Governor for the unwavering support to the ministry to achieve its goals and objectives.
In her address, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Hajiya Maryam Ahmad Barade, highlighted the ministry's steadfast commitment to discharging its mandate of Planning Budgeting and economic coordination for the development of the state.
The Permanent Secretary also recognised the timeless effort, mentorship, leadership and guidance of the Commissioner Dr. Abubakar Muhammad Zayyana, which have greatly strengthened the performance and impact of the ministry.
She used the medium to appreciate all the development partners, civil society and non governmental organisations for technical assistance, funding support and shared vision for inclusive and sustainable development in the state.
In a vote of thank on behalf of the awardees, the Sokoto State ALGON Chairman and Tambuwal Local Government Chairman Alhaji Abba Shehu Tambuwal expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning for recognizing their contributions as an instrumental in driving its success and pledged to sustain the partnership.
Other recipients of the award included, United Nations For Population Fund (UNFPA), United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), State Accountant General, Executive Secretary Sokoto State Small and Medium Enterprises Agency (SOSMEDA) and the District Head of Gagi, among others.
It was witnessed by members of development partners, civil society and non-governmental organisations, government officials and staff of the ministry and it's parastatal among others.
