SOSG Approves Classrooms, Teachers for Madarasatul Sheikh Habibu

The Sokoto State Government has approved the immediate construction of two additional classrooms and the deployment of more teachers to Madarasatul Sheikh Habibu Qur’an Wal Hadis, Gidan Salanke, as part of efforts to strengthen Islamic education in the state.

Governor Ahmad Aliyu announced the approval at the graduation ceremony of 137 pupils of the school, held within the school premises.
 He said the intervention was aimed at improving learning conditions and enhancing effective teaching at the rapidly growing institution.

The governor congratulated parents of the graduating pupils for ensuring proper Islamic upbringing for their children and commended the headmaster and teachers for their dedication to the propagation of quality religious education.

 He urged people, irrespective of age, to continue seeking Islamic knowledge.
Governor Aliyu also pledged the provision of a 500KVA transformer to address electricity challenges in the Gidan Salanke community.

Earlier, the Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Dr. Jabir Sani Maihulla, announced several donations on behalf of the state government. 
He disclosed that each graduate received ₦10,000, while male graduates were given a bundle of brocade and female graduates a bundle of wrappers.

In recognition of outstanding performance, five female Qur’anic memorizers were presented with a deep freezer and ₦10,000 each, while two male memorizers received motorcycles.
The member representing Kware/Wamakko Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Alhaji Ahmad Abdullahi Kalambaina, expressed admiration for the pupils’ impressive Qur’anic recitation and announced the donation of solar-powered lighting to the school.

Also speaking, the District Head of Arkilla, Alhaji Aliyu Hassan, praised Governor Aliyu for prioritising religious and moral development in the state.
Earlier in his remarks, the Headmaster of the school, Malam Kashim Abdullahi, disclosed that Madarasatul Sheikh Habibu currently has about 1,500 pupils.

He highlighted the school’s achievements and challenges, and appealed to the state government for sustained support, particularly in the areas of infrastructure and manpower.
