The Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Dr. Abubakar Muhammad Zayyana, today represented the Deputy Governor of Sokoto State, H.E. Dr. Idris Muhammad Gobir, at the official launch of The HUSTLE Project in Sokoto State.
The initiative, implemented by Search for Common Ground (Search), a global organization dedicated to peaceful conflict resolution, supported by the European Union as part of a 24-month intervention aimed at strengthening peace, social cohesion, and resilience among young people.
The HUSTLE Project is designed to address the root causes of violent extremism by promoting dialogue, inclusion, and cooperation across communities.
It places strong emphasis on youth empowerment, civic engagement, and the strategic use of media as tools for building understanding, trust, and sustainable peace.
Dr. Zayyana reaffirmed Sokoto’s commitment to collaborating with development partners and civil society organizations to create opportunities that empower young people and foster stability across the state.
He emphasized that youth remain critical stakeholders in driving positive social transformation and lasting development.
The launch provided a platform for stakeholders from government, civil society, and development agencies to strengthen partnerships and align efforts toward building a more peaceful and resilient Sokoto State.
