Zamfara Concern Citizen blames Matawalle over non-performance

A concern citizen from zamfara State and resident of Gusau, the Zamfara State Capital, Sanusi Lalan Gusau, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to sack the Minister of State for Defence, Hon Bello Mohammed Matawalle, from his post.
He made this call while briefing newsmen on the current insecurity situation in north west of Nigeria.
According to him, the Minister of State for Defence is not working hard to end the security challenges that has plagued the people of north west since he became the Minister.
Sanusi Lalan said the call became necessary considering the fact that the minister is an Indigene of the Zamfara State, and has neglected his power to do something reasonable to end banditry.
He stressed that he had already written a letter of complaint to the Office of the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Lalan repeatedly said that the politicization of the security issue had plunged the state into a state of chaos, indicating that he would not rest until his demands were met.
“I will not give up until the demand is met, and I do not care who will be given the Minister of Defence, if Matawalle is removed,” he added.
Reacting to the allegations, Alhaji Ibrahim Danmalikin Gidangoga, the Special Adviser, political matters to the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, has described the calls for the removal of the minister as a clear envy.
“I think a call for Matawalle’s removal from any citizen of Zamfara is a clear envy.
“This is the work of political sponsors who are not wishing the state and Nigeria well.
“It is only in Zamfara you hear such calls because our people are taking politics differently from that development.
“I think the people of the state should desist from politicising security matter,” Gidangoga added.
He said that Matawalle has been doing well for the state and he was discharging his duties given to him by President Bola Tinubu effectively.
“Therefore, I consider reacting to such calls by some sponsored politicians as a waste of time,” he explained.
