Zamfara NUJ Gets New Secretariat

The zamfara State chapter of Nigeria Union Of Journalists under the leadership of comrade Ibrahim Musa Maizare has today collected the keys of the newly constructed Zamfara NUJ secretariat. 

The secretariat was constructed to the working Journalists in the state by Governor Dauda Lawal, as part of his promises to the pen profession. 

Speaking during the presentation of the constructed secretariat, to the state ministry of housing and urban development, the contractor Alhaji Garba Almajir, said he has hasten the work considering it's infact to the working Journalists in the state.

Almajir who was the owner of the AG Almajir Construction Company, thanked governor Dauda Lawal for his foresight in giving his company this contract. 

Receiving the new secretariat on behalf of the commissioner ministry of housing and urban development, the permanent secretary of the ministry Sanusi Bello Jabaka said. 

"We are here on behalf of the ministry and the commissioner to receive the constructed NUJ secretariat by AG Almajir Construction Company and hand over to the chairman. 

According to him, before he receive the work, the Ministry's team of engineers went round and are satisfied with the work. 

" So this is not official handing over, but as a custodian of the secretariat we must hand over to you, pending the time governor Dauda Lawal and the honourable commissioner come back from a trip, or any directive from them, Jabaka noted. 

Responding, the Zamfara State chairman of the Nigeria Union Of Journalists NUJ comrade Ibrahim Musa Maizare expressed his delight by having a befitting secretariat during his reign. 

"We are happy by having this gigantic project being executed by the executive governor of Zamfara State, Dr Dauda Lawal to the members of the Nigeria Union Of Journalists. 

"Having have this very important project to us is a history, and this our project will boost our moral in our daily activities as Journalists in Zamfara State, so we are happy for the governor for constructing this befitting secretariat to us, and we are happy for the contractor who have sone his job efficiently.

"Today we are receiving the project from the ministry of housing and town planning zamfara state, and we are waiting for the governor and commissioner of the ministry to come back, so that the project would be handed over to us officially.
Maizare said.

He however called on the working Journalists in the state to reciprocate the gesture by safeguarding the project executed to them.
