BILL ON MAGATAKARDA COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY PASSES INTO LAW

Sokoto State House of Assembly has passed A Bill For A Law To Provide For The Establishment and Incorporation of the Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko College For Technology and Advanced Studies  Sokoto And To Make Provision For Its Due Administration in to Law. 

The Bill was given its third reading by the Clerk to the House, Dr. Mustapha Sidi Attahiru signifying its passage in to law.

 Earliar on, a Report has been presented by the Deputy Chairman House Committee on Higher Education, Hon. Muhammad Bello Idris before the floor of theHouse. 

In the Report, Hon. Bello Idris who is the Majority Leader in the House said the Committee has made various observations and recommendations in the bill. 

According to him, under observation, there is a need to make the Registrar a Member and Secretary in the composition of senior staff establishment committee in section 22 (1) paragraph (g) of the Bill among others. 

Under recommendations, he said the Director of works and physical planning shall be responsible to the Provost for maintenance of the College buildings, minor works, overseeing College development, construction projects and the maintenance of college facilities like roads water and electricity etc.

The Deputy Speaker Hon. Kabiru Ibrahim said the house considered and approved the recommendations
