Gov. Aliyu Praises Islamic Scholars, Calls for Prayers Against Banditry

The Sokoto State Governor, Dr. Ahmad Aliyu, has commended Islamic scholars for their steadfast commitment to Tafsir, Taraweeh, and Tahajjud prayers during the Ramadan period.
The governor gave the commendation while paying the traditional Sallah homage to the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, at his palace.
He urged the scholars to sustain their teachings and religious guidance, stressing the need to continually enlighten the public on their spiritual and moral responsibilities.
Governor Aliyu described this year’s Eid al-Fitr celebration as unique and peaceful, attributing the success to the effective leadership of traditional rulers and other key stakeholders in the state.
He expressed gratitude to the people of Sokoto State for their unwavering support and prayers for his administration, assuring them of continued delivery of democratic dividends.
The governor also called for sustained prayers to tackle banditry and other forms of insecurity in the state.
In his response, the Sultan of Sokoto appreciated the governor for the Sallah homage and congratulated Muslims on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast.
The Sultan reaffirmed the support of the Sultanate Council to the state government and urged citizens to continue supporting the administration for the overall development of the state.
