I Will Not Contest For Zamfara Governorship Election In 2027:- Says Matawalle

Former governor of Zamfara State, Hon. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, the Minister of State for Defence has today declared that he will not contest for Zamfara Governorship Election, come 2027.

Matawalle made this known today during the official receiving of Governor Dauda Lawal from Peoples Democratic Party PDP to All Progressives Congress APC, which was presided over by Vice President Kashim Shatima, at the Zamfara Trade Fair Complex in Gusau.

He also  urged his supporters to support Governor Dauda Lawal in the forthcoming general elections.

“I would like to inform all my supporters that from today, I have endorsed Governor Dauda Lawal as the gubernatorial candidate of the APC, and I appeal to them to support him in the forthcoming general election.” he said.

The Defence Minister added that the APC has become one, indicating that the return of Governor Dauda Lawal to the APC will bring unity and progress to the people of Zamfara State.

According to matawalle this is a historic occasion as the ceremony put all former governors and some of their deputies together to receive governor Dauda Lawal in to the APC.

The Defence Minister assured his total support to governor Dauda Lawal to curve the menace of insecurity that is bedeviling the progress of the state.
