Sokoto Zakkat Agency Commends SOSG's Assistance To The Needy

The Chairman sokoto state zakkat and endowment Agency, Engineer Muh'd Lawal Maidoki has expressed appreciation to the state government for its giant efforts in assisting the needy.

This he said was done through its assistance programme, personal donation of senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko during the just concluded Ramadan.

The Chairman was speaking during a press conference held recently at zakkat and endowment Agency Tudun wada area sokoto.

He noted that, a lot of the vulnerable persons benefitted immensely from the kind gesture,  and the items were distributed judiciously to the beneficiaries.

Maidoki further hailed the state governor Dr. Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto and senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko for giving assistance to the less privileged persons, noting that eighteen thousand, four hundred (18,400) of such persons benefitted from the assistance that included clothing materials and sewing fees, others were financial and food assistance to widows and other needy persons which was made through Islamic clerics and organisation.

The Chairman of the agency said even orphans were not left behind as they got sallah attires and sewing fees among others.

He said all the 87 districts in the state had  benefitted from such kind gesture during which one hundred 100 orphans were selected from each district for gesture.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the agency said we also distributed zakkat and endowment of each and every district in the state which they collected in their damainsm.

He said the Agency also distributed ten thousand clothing materials in addition to ten Million naira 10m donated by senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko to orphans of the internally displaced persons IDPS among other needy persons.
