Zamfara Ministry For Local Government And Chieftaincy Affairs Provides Vehicle And Motorcycles To Vigilante Groups

The Zamfara State Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs has provided and handed over one official vehicle and ten motorcycles to vigilante groups to strengthen community security efforts across the state.

The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Engr. Ahmad Garba Yandi, presented the operational vehicles to the vigilante groups on behalf of the Zamfara State Government following the approval of the Executive Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Engr. Yandi said the support is part of the state government’s ongoing commitment to enhancing community-based security and supporting local vigilante groups who play a critical role in protecting lives and property, particularly in rural communities.

He explained that the provision of the official car and motorcycles will improve the mobility and operational efficiency of the vigilante groups, enabling them to respond swiftly to security threats and support conventional security agencies in maintaining peace across Zamfara State.
Engr. Yandi further noted that the initiative reflects the determination of Governor **Dauda Lawal** to strengthen grassroots security architecture and ensure that communities are adequately supported in the collective fight against insecurity.

The Commissioner urged the vigilante members to make judicious use of the vehicles and motorcycles and continue to work closely with security agencies to safeguard their communities.
He reiterated that the administration of Governor Dauda Lawal will continue to introduce policies and interventions aimed at restoring peace, improving governance, and enhancing the wellbeing of the people of Zamfara State.
