Aliyu Approves 2026 Sokoto Hajj Delegation,Names Dingyadi as Amirul Hajj

Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State has approved the constitution of the state’s 2026 Hajj delegation, appointing the Minister of Labour and Employment, Alhaji Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, as Amirul Hajj.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued by the Director General, Media and Publicity, Government House, Sokoto, Abubakar Bawa, dated April 24, 2026.
According to the statement, prominent members of the delegation include the Grand Khadi, Hon. Sodangi Shua’ibu Achida; Justice Amina Modi Yabo; Hon. Aminu Gidado; Hon. Nasiru Aliyu D/Tsoho; and the Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Muhammad Bello Sifawa.
Also listed are the Chief of Staff Government House, Hon. Aminu H. Dikko; Alhaji Rilwanu Bello, Magajin Rafin Sokoto; Sheikh Yahaya Na-Malam Boyi; Sarkin Malamai, Prof. Malami Muhammad Maishanu; Hon. Maryam Sulaiman (DMASS); and Alhaji Bello Bulaki. Alhaji Hussaini N. Umar will serve as Secretary of the delegation.
The statement noted that the delegation has been mandated to plan, coordinate, and supervise all activities related to the 2026 Hajj operations, both in Nigeria and in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
It added that the team will oversee sub-committees and ensure proper arrangements for accommodation, feeding, and the general welfare of Sokoto State pilgrims, as well as carry out any other assignments necessary to guarantee a smooth and successful Hajj exercise.
