Aliyu Approves Islamiyya School, Orders Inclusion of New Mosque in Monthly Support

Governor Ahmad Aliyu of Sokoto State has approved the construction of an Islamiyya school at the newly completed Sheikh Buhari Siriddawa Jumu’at Mosque located along the Western Bypass.
The approval was announced during the commissioning of the mosque, where the governor also directed the Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Dr. Jabir Sani Maihulla, to ensure the facility is immediately included in the state government’s monthly impress for maintenance and support.

Aliyu commended the sponsor, Alhaji Yahaya Buhari Siriddawa, for building the mosque as a waqf in honour of his late father, the Sarkin Malaman Sokoto, Sheikh Buhari Siriddawa. 
He urged wealthy individuals to emulate the gesture to enhance religious and social development in the state.

Commissioning the mosque, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko lauded the initiative, describing it as a significant contribution to the promotion of religious activities. He added that the current administration has continued to prioritize investment in mosques and Islamiyya schools across the state.

In his remarks, the sponsor, Alhaji Yahaya Buhari Siriddawa, said the project was dedicated to the memory of his late father and expressed gratitude to Governor Aliyu and Senator Wamakko for their support.
Also speaking at the event were the Wazirin Sokoto and representative of the Sultan, Professor Sambo Wali Junaidu, and the Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Dr. Jabir Sani Maihulla.

The two raka’at prayer was led by the Chief Imam of the mosque, Malam Bello Buhari Siriddawa.
Dignitaries at the event included the Minister of Labour and Employment, Alhaji Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi; Minister of State for Works, Barrister Bello Muhammad Goronyo; among others.
