CP Shaffa Continues Operational Tour, Visits FRSC Sector Commander To Strengthen Inter-Agency Synergy

In a continued bid to enhance security coordination and traffic management across the state, the newly posted Commissioner of Police, Sokoto State Command, CP HayatuHassanShaffa, psc ,mnips, today, April 16, 2026, paid an operational visit to the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Sokoto Sector Command.

The visit, which forms part of CP's ongoing familiarization and operational tour of critical security and safety agencies in the state, was aimed at solidifying synergy, fostering collaboration, and strengthening the existing relationship between the Nigeria Police Force and the FRSC.
During the meeting, the Commissioner of Police emphasized the importance of seamless inter-agency cooperation in tackling road accidents, crime prevention, and ensuring the free flow of traffic, especially as the state evolving. 

“Security is a shared responsibility. The FRSC remains a critical partner in our mandate to protect lives and property. Today’s engagement is about building a robust operational framework where information sharing, joint patrols, and emergency response become more coordinated for the benefit of Sokoto residents,” Shaffa stated.
The CP further noted that the police command would support the FRSC in enforcing traffic regulations, particularly in apprehending vehicles conveying stolen goods, responding to armed robbery incidents on highways, and managing accident scenes more effectively.

In his response, the Sector Commander, FRSC Sokoto,Umar Adamu Argungu , welcomed the CP’s initiative, describing the visit as timely and commendable. 

He reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to deepening collaboration with the Police Command, especially in areas of rapid response to road crashes, clearing of obstructions, and intelligence sharing on criminal activities along major highways.

“We are one family in the business of saving lives. With the CP’s demonstrated commitment to synergy, I am confident that our joint operations will yield significant results in reducing road traffic crashes and enhancing highway security,” the Sector Commander said.
