Federal Polytechnic Kaura Matriculates 1,450 Students,Warns Them Against Cultism, Indecent Dress, Others

No fewer than 1,450 students of Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda have today been matriculated.

The students were drawn from various courses implemented by the institution, and some of the students are going to study both National and High National Diplomas.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after the colourful ceremony, the Rector of the institution Dr, Aminu Yusuf said, the Institution will not condone any act of Cultism even though there has never been a report in that regard.

The Rector added that even indecent dress is not allow, among other things that will damage the good image of the institution.

On the security of the institution Doctor said, he has engaged the services of security agencies that will assist in safeguarding the institution.

According to him they are working closely with all conventional security agencies in the State. And the students and staffs are adequately protected with their properties.

The Rector therefore enumerated some the achievements recorded in just one year of his stewardship.

He said, " When I came onboard as the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda, in the year under review, I was able to secure accreditation of 38 courses, as against the three courses I met.

" We have completed 2.5km fencing in the Institution, remodeling of the Institution's ICT in the school, and most of the hostels have been renovated by the State government.

"We also held recruitment interview to over thirty workers, and very soon they will start enjoying their salaries. He noted.

On the issue of games the Rector said adequate games facilities have been provided to both the students and their teachers. He added that the students have once participated at the inter Polytechnic competition and they took second position.

He then appealed to the Federal Government to increase funds to the Institution, as according to him it will boost their moral in the discharge of their primary assignment.
