PWA Sokoto Flags Off Strategic Pilgrims Enlightenment Campaign in Bodinga LGA

The Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency (PWA) has officially flagged off its strategic Pilgrims Enlightenment Campaign in Bodinga Local Government Area as part of preparations for the forthcoming Hajj exercise.
The campaign is aimed at educating and sensitizing intending pilgrims on the proper conduct, rites, and expectations of the Hajj, in line with global best practices and guidelines set by relevant authorities.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, the head of Da'awa and Irshad Unit of the Agency Imam Sheikh Yahuza Shehu Tambuwal emphasized the importance of adequate knowledge and preparedness for all intending pilgrims, noting that the enlightenment sessions would help ensure a smooth and hitch-free Hajj operation.
The Agency reiterated its commitment to taking the campaign across all the 23 Local Government Areas of the state to ensure that every intending pilgrim is well-informed and spiritually prepared for the sacred journey.
The event witnessed the participation of religious scholars, officials, and a large number of intending pilgrims from Bodinga, Yabo, Dange-Shuni and Tureta Local GovernmentAreas.

Intending Pilgrims Advised to Continue Seeking Knowledge on Hajj
Intending pilgrims have been advised to intensify their efforts in seeking adequate knowledge on the rites and obligations of Hajj in preparation for the 2026 pilgrimage exercise.
The Head of Da’awah and Irshad Unit, Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Imam Sheikh Yahuza Shehu Tambuwal, gave the advice today while addressing intending pilgrims from Wamakko and Silame Local Government Areas during the ongoing pilgrims’ sensitization programme.
Imam Tambuwal reminded the pilgrims of the importance of sound knowledge in ensuring the proper and acceptable performance of Hajj rites. He urged them to redouble their efforts in learning and understanding the practical aspects of the pilgrimage.
He further called on the intending pilgrims to always consult knowledgeable Ulamas within their respective communities for guidance and clarification on issues related to Hajj.

The sensitization campaign features comprehensive education on Hajj, delivered by various Islamic scholars, aimed at equipping pilgrims with the necessary knowledge for a successful pilgrimage.

Pilgrims Must Carry Nusuk ID Card to Enter Makkah During Hajj 2026

The Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has drawn the attention of intending pilgrims from the state to the importance of the Nusuk ID Card during their stay in the Holy Land for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
The Agency gave the caution during the continuation of its strategic pilgrims education and enlightenment campaign held in Tambuwal Local Government Area. The ongoing enlightenment programme also covers Kebbe and Shagari Local Government Areas.

Speaking during the session, the Head of Information and Communications of the Agency, Faruku Umar, emphasized that the Nusuk ID Card is now a mandatory document for all 2026 Hajj pilgrims. He explained that the card is required for entry into Makkah, the Masjid al-Haram (Grand Mosque), and other Holy Sites, stressing that no pilgrim will be granted access without it.

Faruku Umar further enlightened the pilgrims on the concept of Tafweej, which requires pilgrims to move in organized groups of 45 persons to ensure orderliness and effective coordination during Hajj operations.
The session also featured presentations from various Islamic scholars who educated the intending pilgrims on Minasik (Hajj rites) and other essential processes to ensure a smooth and spiritually fulfilling pilgrimage.

The Agency urged all intending pilgrims to adhere strictly to the guidelines provided to ensure a successful Hajj exercise.

In continuation of Enlightenment of pilgrims at Sheikh Isah Talatar Mafara Islamiyya School 


The Sheikh Isah Talatar Mafara Islamiyya School Women in Daawah has successfully organised a two-day intensive enlightenment workshop for female intending pilgrims across Sokoto State.
The programme was designed to educate and enlighten female pilgrims on the rites of Hajj and the newly introduced Hajj policies ahead of the upcoming pilgrimage season.

Focus: Comprehensive guidance on Hajj rites, obligations, and spiritual preparations specific to female pilgrims

Policy Updates: Detailed briefing on newly introduced Hajj policies to ensure compliance and smooth pilgrimage experience
Expert Facilitation: Many renowned Islamic scholars presented papers and led interactive sessions during the two-day programme

Target Audience: Female intending pilgrims from across Sokoto State

The organisers emphasised the importance of proper religious and administrative preparation for women undertaking Hajj. Participants received practical guidance on documentation, health protocols, conduct during the pilgrimage, and clarification on recent policy changes affecting pilgrims.
The Sheikh Isah Talatar Mafara Islamiyya School Women in Daawah reaffirmed their commitment to supporting female pilgrims through continued education and community-based initiatives that promote informed and spiritually fulfilling Hajj experiences.
