The Commissioner of Police, Sokoto State Command, CP Hayatu Hassan Shaffa, psc, mnips, on Saturday, 18th April 2026, undertook an on-the-spot assessment of security deployments at designated Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres for the ongoing Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) across the state, in line with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police.
The visit forms part of the Command’s proactive visibility policing strategy aimed at ensuring a secure, orderly, and hitch-free examination environment for candidates, officials, and stakeholders. During the tour, the CP inspected security arrangements, interacted with deployed personnel, and emphasised the need for professionalism, vigilance, and courteous conduct in dealing with members of the public.
The CP while addressing Jamb officials conducting the exams appreciated them for the smooth conduct of the exercise and also assured that the command is ready to assist them with any of their security need. He stated that they should not hesitate to contact the command in case of any complaint. According to the CP, the men deployed to the various centers are for the protection of both the students and JAMB officials.

The CP expressed satisfaction with the level of compliance with earlier directives on adequate deployment to all centres, while reiterating that Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers must maintain effective supervision throughout the examination period.
