Fire Razes Sokoto NLC Office, Destroys Decades of Records

A devastating fire has completely destroyed the Sokoto State office of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), wiping out property and vital documents accumulated over several decades.
The incident occurred in the early hours of the night, around 3:00 a.m., leaving the office in ruins. According to the Secretary of the NLC Sokoto State Council, Hamisu Hussaini Hamisu, the fire is suspected to have been caused by an alleged electrical spark.

He explained that the inferno consumed all office equipment, including computers, printers, refrigerators, televisions, chairs, and critical documents spanning more than thirty years.
Hamisu added that the security guard on duty at the time was unable to contain the fire as it spread rapidly across the building. It was gathered that firefighters arrived at the scene about an hour later and eventually brought the situation under control.

The extent of the damage has been described as total, with nothing salvageable from the office.

The incident has thrown the council into mourning, as efforts are expected to begin towards recovery and rebuilding.
