Sallah Festival:- Sokoto Hisbah Commences Patrol At Strategic Places To Prevent Unlawful Gathering

From Aminu Suleiman

The Sokoto State Hisbah Board has launched patrols at major Eid celebration centers across the state to enforce guidelines against mixing of men and women during festivities.
The operation began on Friday, 29/5/2026, under the directive of the board. Hisbah teams visited several venues where Eid events are usually held to ensure compliance with Islamic standards.

Hisbah officials covered Mascow, Albishir, Marakish, Plus Center, K7 Mall, Sky Land, and Six20 during the first round of patrols.

The exercise was led by the Acting Commander of Sokoto State Hisbah Board, Imam Sirajo Abubakar, alongside Board Member Sheikh Abdurrahman Sani Mai Tawul and AC Intelligence Mal. Hassan Mu’azu.
Officials said the patrols will continue throughout the Eid period to monitor gatherings and advise organizers on maintaining proper segregation.
The Hisbah Board stated the move is aimed at promoting moral discipline and preventing activities that contradict the teachings of Islam during the Sallah celebrations.
