Sokoto Govt Distributes Cows to Youth Groups in 23 LGAs for Sallah Celebration





The Young people across Sokoto State are celebrating Sallah with extra joy this year after the state government distributed cows to male and female youth groups in all 23 local government areas.

The distribution was carried out by the State Ministry of Youth and Sports under Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto as part of the administration’s effort to support youth welfare during the festive period.

Speaking at the event, the Special Adviser on Youth Affairs, Hon. Kamaludden Abubakar Lemi, said the support reflects the government’s ongoing commitment to improving the lives of young people in the state. 
“Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto continues to show care and compassion for the youths of the state by providing them with support and programs that will help develop their lives and future,” he told journalists.
Lemi commended the governor for prioritizing youth development, describing him as a leader genuinely invested in the progress of both young people and the wider community.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Hajiya Hadiza Galadima, also thanked the governor for creating employment opportunities and backing youth initiatives across various sectors. She said the goal is to equip young people to become responsible contributors to society.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the gesture, saying it would make their Sallah celebrations more meaningful. They pledged to continue supporting the administration’s programmes aimed at driving progress across Sokoto State.

The ceremony was attended by the Director of Youth Affairs, Comrade Abdurrahman Umar Aliyu; Staff Officer Aminu S. Fada Sifawa; Director of Planning and Strategy, Dan Tuni Shagari; Director of Finance, Lawali Sani; NYSC Director of Finance, Akilu Adamu; and other senior officials of the ministry.
