Sokoto Hisbah Shuts Down 7 ‘Badala’ Houses in Kwanawa.

The Sokoto State Hisbah Board has sealed seven houses used for immoral activities in the Kwanawa area of Sokoto during a raid carried out on Saturday, May 23, 2026.
The operation was conducted under _Operation Tsaftace Birnin Shehu_, a clean-up initiative targeting illegal and immoral activities across the state capital.

According to the board, the raid was led by the Executive Chairman, Dr. Rufa’i Ismael Rungumi, alongside the Director General, Malam Nura Abdullahi Attajiri, and the Acting Commander of the Sokoto State Hisbah, Imam Surajo Abubakar, who also serves as the Director of Da’awa.
Hisbah officials said the exercise was part of ongoing efforts to rid the city of social vices and restore public order.

The board also issued a warning to occupants of similar houses along the long stretch in Kwanawa, urging them to vacate immediately or face further action.
Officials said the operation will continue in other parts of Sokoto as part of the board’s mandate to uphold moral and social standards in the state.
