Sokoto State pilgrims on the 2026 Hajj have offered special prayers for peace, unity, and continued development in Sokoto State and Nigeria.
The prayer session took place on Mount Arafat and was led by Islamic scholars from Sokoto State as part of the day’s spiritual rites. The scholars prayed for stability and progress across the state, and for divine guidance for Governor Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto’s administration, including support for his second term bid.
Members of the Sokoto State 2026 Hajj Government Delegation attended the session. The delegation was led by Amirul Hajj and Honourable Minister of Labour and Productivity, Alhaji Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi.
Also present were the Jarman Sokoto, Alhaji Umarun Kwabo AA; Chairman of the Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Aliyu Musa; the agency’s Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Ibrahim Umar JJ; management staff, and Alhaji Murtala Dan’Iya.
The prayers marked one of the key spiritual moments for the Sokoto contingent as they continue the Hajj rites in Saudi Arabia.
The statement was signed and issued to newsmen by Faruku Umar, Head of Information and Communications, Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Sokoto State
