Sokoto Pilgrims Get 46kg of Luggage Ahead of Return Trip from Hajj 2026

Sokoto State pilgrims performing the 2026 Hajj have started receiving their. return-journey luggage, with each pilgrim issued two 23kg bags by the Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency.
The distribution follows the new luggage policy by NAHCON for this year’s pilgrimage. Under the updated guideline, every pilgrim is now entitled to 54kg total allowance, up from the 40kg approved in previous years. The two 23kg bags account for 46kg, with the remaining 8kg covered by hand luggage.
Officials said the move is to ease the burden on pilgrims as they prepare to pack hadiah_ and other items before departure from Saudi Arabia.

The Pilgrims Welfare Agency described the distribution as part of its effort to ensure comfort and convenience for Sokoto pilgrims throughout the spiritual journey. Teams were deployed across pilgrims’ accommodations in Makkah and Madinah to deliver the bags directly.
The agency confirmed all Sokoto pilgrims will receive the bags ahead of the return flights.

The statement was signed and issued to newsmen by Faruku Umar
