SOZEA Chairman Commends Turkish Partnership On Qurbani Distribution

From Aminu Suleiman

The Chairman of Sokoto State Zakkat and Endowment Board, Malam Lawal Mohammad Maidoki, has described the ongoing Qurbani distribution in Sokoto as a timely intervention that will bring relief to thousands of vulnerable households.

Speaking with pressmen at the slaughtering site on Wednesday, Maidoki said the partnership with Turkish groups Diversity Tokyo and the Sulemania Humanitarian Association shows the value of international collaboration in supporting the needy during Eid al-Adha.

“This is an act of worship and an act of service to humanity. About 2,000 to 3,000 bulls and 20 to 30 camels are being slaughtered here today. By Allah’s grace, the meat will reach families within and around Sokoto who may not have the means to partake in Qurbani on their own.”

“We thank Diversity Tokyo and the Sulemania Humanitarian Association for choosing Sokoto and for extending this sacrifice to our people. Such gestures strengthen the bond between Muslims across borders.”
Maidoki he commend His Excellency Governor Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto for receiving the partners and for creating an enabling environment for this exercise. His support has made the work smoother for both the board and the organizers.”

On the target beneficiaries “Our focus is on the poor, the sick, widows, and those who cannot afford meat during this period.

The goal is simple: to put smiles on faces and ensure that no one is left out of the blessings of Eid.”

“We have also used this moment to pray for healing for the sick, for relief for those in hardship, and for peace and tranquility in Sokoto State and Nigeria as a whole.”

Maidoki said the board will work with community leaders and volunteers to ensure the meat is distributed fairly and reaches the intended households within the state.
