SOZEA Distributes Food Items To The Needy In Sokoto With Erisco Tomatoes Support

The Sokoto State Zakkat and Waqaf Agency, SOZEA, has distributed food items to vulnerable residents in the state as part of its ongoing humanitarian outreach.

The distribution was led by the Chairman of the agency, Malam Muhammad Lawal Maidoki, Sadaukin Sokoto, and supported with contributions from Erisco Tomatoes.
The effort targets households facing hardship and forms part of SOZEA’s broader mandate to alleviate poverty through Zakkat and Waqaf.

Speaking during the exercise, Maidoki stressed that compassion and social responsibility should guide both public and private institutions.
He said collaboration between government and corporate partners is key to reaching more people and making relief efforts sustainable.

“Our commitment is to ensure that assistance gets to those who need it most, in line with the principles of Zakkat and Waqaf,” he said.
He also appealed to individuals and organizations to back similar initiatives, noting that collective action strengthens social welfare and helps stabilize the local economy.
The statement was Signed by the Ismail Muhammad Ibrahim, Public Relations Officer, SOZEA
